Our forecasting assignments have ranged from short and long-term forecasts for individual routes through to whole airline and airport networks. We have developed robust and tested methodologies that are tailored to each circumstance. These enable us produce forecasts based on a range of market-specific drivers including detailed data on passengers, routes, travel purpose and catchment areas to broader econometric data such as GDP and disposable income. We combine this detailed data analysis with our own team’s extensive experience gained from senior management positions in airlines, airports and financial institutions as well as consultancy projects undertaken around the world.
We provide airport transaction advice to a wide range of clients: governments, banks and investment funds who are looking to buy, sell or invest in airport assets. Typically our work involves producing short, medium and long-term traffic forecasts, aeronautical and commercial revenue projections, as well as developing understanding of the broader industry and business strategy.
The nature of our assignments means that we have to have a strategic understanding of the whole aviation business, which in turn enables us to consider and evaluate individual projects and businesses within a broader context. The analysis we undertake often combines a high-level top down approach and a bottom-up micro-level approach. This strategic overview is important in long-term projects but also for shorter term planning projects.
Planning and Route Development
Our capabilities don’t stop at the analytical level. We have a team which turn short-term strategy into an executable development plan – and then into the delivery of that plan. At the heart of this is our route development team, which has a history of helping clients develop new air services though understanding the commercial viability of services from an airline’s perspective. Within the route development team, we have experience in working within both the airport and airline environment and therefore understand the end to end airline network planning process, its complexities and the best methods of attracting the interest of an airline.
